PARIS, Ill. (WTWO/WAWV) — A missing Paris man was found dead following a search by authorities Sunday.
Forty-five-year-old Jeremy K. McDaniel was reported missing by family members after he left his residence on South Shore Drive shortly after 3:30 a.m. Sunday and did not return.
Two Paris Police officers found McDaniel’s body in a private pond in a wooded area near his home around 10:30 a.m. Sunday. In addition to Paris Police, Horizon Health Ambulance and the Paris Fire Department arrived at the scene within minutes of the discovery.
McDaniel was pronounced dead at the scene by Edgar County Coroner Scott Barrett. An official cause of death will be determined following an autopsy Monday morning by Terre Haute forensic pathologist Dr. Roland Kohr.
Authorities said foul play is not suspected based on current available evidence.
