TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) – A few weeks ago, several members of the Miracle on 7th Street committee stayed on the roof of Baesler’s market for 12 hours encouraging people to stop by and donate.
With those efforts, the committee was able to raise around $3,700. But Miracle on 7th Street doesn’t stop there, this year the Light Your Way Christmas parade will be on December 2nd. The parade will start on 5th Street and ending at 9th Street, at 6 p.m.
The event will continue into Sunday with a vendor market inside the Terre Haute Convention center and tons of other activities outside.
Parade Coordinator John Mace said the event will look different this year.
“It’s just going to look a little different because it’s not going to be intense on the street. Last year we had some weather that made it very difficult so we’re trying something new this year. We’re interested in hearing the feedback from the participates and from the guests that come to enjoy the day,” Mace said.
Charities directly benefiting from the Miracle on 7th Street include:
- The 14th and Chestnut Community Center Grumbling Tummies program
- Catholic Charities
- St. Benedict`s Soup Kitchen
- the Tribune-Star`s Christmas Basket Fund
- Providence Food Pantry
- Manna from Seven
