TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) — Almost a year ago LT Thompson joined the Terre Haute Chamber of Commerce as the Black Business Alliance Coordinator.

The Black Business Alliance helps serve small black-owned businesses and entrepreneurs, throughout a seven-county region in West Central Indiana. Regular BBA meetings have been held at the Chamber`s downtown office and around Terre Haute, with business owners in attendance.

The goal of the group is to help others get started, in entrepreneurship and to provide business resources. One goal Thompson hopes to implement this year is reaching out to high school level students and help them get started in entrepreneurship.

Thompson said he has seen the impact this group has made in the community.

“A lot of times businesses or entrepreneurs feel like they have to do it on their own. So, this is the case where you don’t have to. There’s resources available,” Thompson said. “So, it’s a great way to say hey let’s plug into those resources and seek some help. Seek some advice and get the resources that you may need to catapult your business to the next level.”
