TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) — Lots of people are buying Mega Millions tickets today in hopes of winning a huge jackpot.

That jackpot grew higher Tuesday reaching $830 million dollars, the third largest jackpot in the game’s history and the fourth largest jackpot in United States Lottery history.

Charla Baker works at a BP gas station and convenience store in Southern Vigo County and she told WTWO that just about every other customer has purchased a Mega Millions ticket.

“It would be awesome if it were to hit in Indiana. [Would] give some Indiana people a chance to get something big and have a life-changing experience,” said Baker.

Nancy Hines works at the Fort Harrison Mini Mart and she said she has also been seeing a lot of lotto interest.

“We have been selling tickets like you wouldn’t believe. Hopefully, we’ll get the winner here,” said Hines.

To see what numbers are chosen when the balls get to rolling, tune into the Mega Millions drawing Tuesday night on WTWO just before the 11 p.m. newscast.
