TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) — Mayor-elect Brandon Sakbun has announced a new website for residents to apply to positions within their local government.

According Sakbun’s press release, the new website, www.ibelieveinterrehaute.com, will outline available positions within boards, commissions and administration.

“From an organizational perspective my goal is to hire several department heads within the next 10 days. Once we complete the hiring process for department heads, we will move on to Mayoral appointments for boards and commissions. Each applicant should be prepared to discuss a five-year plan regarding the funding and organizational structure of their department. Thus far we have received over 50 applications for boards and commissions as well as dozens of applications for department heads. I look forward to reviewing the applications and working to select a qualified and diverse administration,” Sakbun said.

Those interested should apply by Sunday November 19, and according to the release, “all current city department heads are encouraged to apply.”

Sakbun also noted he is working to create several forums and listening sessions for next year. The release reads, “The Team Terre Haute program will be created to seek input from our community and allow residents opportunities to voice their concerns. The administration is aiming for three community sessions next year.”
