MARSHALL, Ill. (WTWO/WAWV) — For the 20th year, the Marshall Public Library in Marshall, Illinois will offer free tax preparation to anyone 50 years old or older.

Volunteers have been trained through the AARP Foundation Tax-Aide program in cooperation with the IRS. Preparers provide confidential tax preparation services at no charge.

Assistance is by appointment only. Free preparations will be available Feb. 4 April 16. Appointments will be accepted beginning Monday.

Seniors should bring last year’s 2018 income tax forms, a photo ID, Social Security Card and all supporting documentation to their appointments. Spouses who file jointly must both be present.

Tax volunteers are not able to complete returns for which they have not been trained, including business and farm returns.
