Manna From Seven seeking frozen food donations

Local News

TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) – Manna From Seven Food Pantry at St. Stephen’s Episcopal Church is busier than ever. With the COVID-19 virus still spreading, the need for essential food items is continuing to grow.

Those with Manna From Seven said items from the pantry are leaving the shelves faster than they’re being restocked. On Friday, a line was wrapped around the building of St. Stephen’s for more than an hour.

Susan Seitz said the total number of families helped Friday was over 147, and that number is expected to jump in coming weeks.

“We are getting a lot of financial donations,” she said. “Fortunately, the only trouble we’re having is keeping the freezers full because we’re serving so many each week.”

The organization gave away more than 1,200 pounds of meat and hundreds of pounds of vegetables Friday. The pantry gives away food for the weekend each Friday from 12:15 until 1:15 p.m.
