GREENE COUNTY, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) — The northbound exit ramp at mile marker 98 of Interstate 69 is closed for some time after a rollover crash sent a 68-year-old man to an Indianapolis hospital overnight.
According to Greene County Dispatch Supervisor Darion Wilson, deputies were called to the scene of the crash just before 4:30 a.m. Sunday.
When they arrived at the mile marker 98 exit ramp northbound, they found a White 2021 International Semi tractor with a loaded box trailer overturned on the driver’s side in the grass between the exit ramp and I-69.
The driver, Juan Loyola, 68, was conscious and trapped inside the vehicle. Emergency crews extracted him from the vehicle, and he was flown by an air evac helicopter to Eskenazi Hospital in Indianapolis for treatment.
At this time, Loyola’s injuries are unknown. Neither drugs nor alcohol appear to be a factor in the crash.
Wilson said the northbound exit ramp at mile marker 98 of I-69 will stay closed for an extended period of time, so crews could remove the vehicle and clean the area.
