WEST TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) — A man died Sunday afternoon in West Terre Haute, Ind. after police and EMS found him lying in a roadway.
Deputies from the Vigo County Sheriff’s Office responded around 3:25 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 21 to Darwin road and Southlake Roads in reference to an injured person. Once on scene, deputies said they found Jerry Giles, 44, West Terre Haute, on the ground in the roadway.
Rescue personnel were also on the scene, according to a news release, but couldn’t revive Giles. The Vigo County Coroner’s Office later arrived and confirmed that Giles was dead.
The Vigo County Sheriff’s Detectives have been called to help investigate. The investigation is ongoing. According to the department, it is most likely that Giles fell from a moving vehicle while traveling on Darwin Road.
