VIGO COUNTY, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) – A man is facing charges after a domestic disturbance Monday night in Vigo County.
Deputies responded to a call at the Northwind Apartments on Goldenroad Avenue. The Vigo County Sheriff’s Office says it was reported that 30-year-old Donald Pearson had battered several people and fired a handgun inside the apartment.
The sheriff’s office says when deputies arrived, the victims were outside and told deputies they believed Pearson was still inside the apartment, armed with a handgun.
The Terre Haute Police and Vigo County Special Response Team was called to the scene.
Authorities determined Pearson had left the apartment prior to deputies arriving. The sheriff’s office says Pearson later turned himself in at the Terre Haute Police Department and he was taken into custody.
Pearson faces charges of criminal recklessness, pointing a firearm and domestic battery.
