TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) — One man was killed Monday morning following an accident at a Vigo County factory.
Deputies and rescue personnel were dispatched on Monday at 10 a.m. to Advics Manufacturing on James Adams Street to respond to an unconscious person, according to Vigo County Sheriff John Plasse.
Kenneth Crowe, 62, was discovered lying on the ground behind the rear of a trailer. A nearby person had discovered Crowe and attempted CPR before first responders arrived. Crowe was transported to Regional Hospital, where he was later pronounced dead.
Video of the incident showed Crowe climbing on the rear of the trailer, appearing to attempt to lock its door, at which time he fell backwards, landing on the concrete.
Advics Manufacturing released the following statement:
“ADVICS Manufacturing Indiana had an unfortunate event that occurred on Monday, October 12, involving a truck driver employed by an independent trucking company. The individual had pulled away from the dock and was attempting to close his trailer door when he fell backwards and landed on concrete. Due to this individual not being an ADVICS employee, we unfortunately have no additional details available to share. The management and team members of ADVICS Manufacturing Indiana offer our condolences to the family and friends of this individual.”
