CLINTON, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) — Local children are reading tales to tails during a summer program at the Clinton Public Library.
The program, “Love on a Leash,” is held each Thursday allowing children to read to certified therapy pets brought in by volunteers.
Harmony Harris, head of youth services at the library said the kids love the unique summer program, which is just one of many programs and resources available at the library.
“Literacy is a skill that lasts a lifetime but also it’s nice for people to understand that our library is more than just books,” she said. “We’re a bit of a community center too, so we offer a lot of things for children.
At 10 a.m. next Thursday, the library will also hold a pet adoption drive for the Parke-Vermillion County Humane Society.
