LOOGOOTEE, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) — A bag left at a pharmacy led to a Loogootee woman’s arrest on numerous drug related charges.
According to the Loogootee Police, a joint agency investigation was launched at 3:10 p.m. Wednesday following a call to 911 reporting a bag left at a CVS that possibly contained illegal drugs.
Investigating officers determined that the bag contained methamphetamine. It was later determined that the bag belonged to a 48-year-old woman named Joanna Hurst. Hurst was reportedly located by members of the Martin County Sheriff’s Office and consented to a search where more drugs and paraphernalia was located.
Hurst was placed under arrest and booked into the Martin County Jail on the following preliminary charges;
- Dealing in methamphetamine
- A level 5 felony
- Possession of methamphetamine (x2)
- A level 6 felony
- Possession of marijuana
- A class B misdemeanor
- Possession of paraphernalia
- A class C misdemeanor
Indiana court records show that Hurst has since been released from jail on a bond of $3,000 with 10% cash deposit filed.
