TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) – This year’s Toys for Tots campaign in Terre Haute is in need of donations.
The effort helps children in Vigo, Vermillion, Clay and Parke Counties.
Last year the local campaign distributed more than 11,000 toys, supporting more than 2,100 children.
Donations are down so far this year. The local campaign has only raised $8,000 and is in desperate need of toys.
“Every year it’s been six toys per child, but we don’t have the toys right now. So, if you see a box around town, there’s about 106 businesses that have a Toys for Tots box, please drop off a toy,” says (HMC) Navy Chief Petty Officer Jose Saenz.
Terre Haute Toys for Tots will be collecting toys and donations through December 13.
