TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) – Local road departments say road conditions remained good throughout Wednesday, but they will continue to monitor overnight.
West-Central INDOT communications director Debbie Calder says crews worked 12 shifts on Wednesday, with shifts expected to end at midnight.
Calder says roads are being treated with salt and as of Wednesday evening there were no signs of serious issues with the roads.
The Vigo County Highway Department also pre-treated roads throughout the day.
Both departments say the overnight hours nights is what they will monitor moving forward.
If roads begin to freeze because of dropping temperatures, the departments say they are capable of having more crews work throughout the night.
