TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) — One local restaurant is celebrating its anniversary this week by giving back to the community.
To celebrate its 7th year under the ownership of Himalaya Enterprises, the Golden Corral has been delivering meals to healthcare workers involved in the vaccination efforts.
Operations manager Nathaniel Gill said he hopes the restaurant’s gesture made lunchtime quicker and easier for these busy professionals.
“I think that’s the main focus and the main effort, and what important, is where can we make the most impact? And I think that just being a restaurant with a little bit of staff and some food, I think this was the best or biggest impact we could make,” he said.
Employee Barbara Cox has been delivering 35 meals a day. She said it is a way to pay it forward.
“Seeing a smile on peoples’ faces, the doctors and stuff, that are there all day giving shots and things, and when I bring the food to them and they say ‘Oh, thank you very much. We needed this,'” she said.
