INDIANAPOLIS – Vigo County resident Carson Bailey is gaining experience as an intern with State Rep. Alan Morrison (R-Brazil) and his fellow members of the Indiana House of Representatives during the 2021 legislative session.

“This internship is a fascinating experience,” Bailey said. “Not only do I get to see the state’s legislative process up close, but I am helping constituents connect to the right resources and find solutions.”

As a legislative intern, Bailey corresponds with constituents through phone calls, letters and emails while also staffing committee hearings.

“While session this year has been very different, the interns are still an integral part of our staff and learning so much,” Morrison said. “This experience is providing Carson and his fellow interns valuable experiences that will help prepare them for future careers.”

Bailey, who was a homeschooled student, is the son of Jeffrey and Danielle Bailey. He currently attends Purdue University, majoring in economics and political science.

Each year, the House of Representatives offers paid internship opportunities to college students, law school students, graduate students and recent college graduates for the duration of each legislative session.
