TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) — On Friday, local organizations helped train participants on how to manage certain situations in the workplace and community.
The Wabash Valley Community Foundation, United Way of the Wabash Valley and the Greater Terre Haute Chamber of Commerce offered two training sessions on implicit bias.
The 3-hour training was funded by the Community Foundation and presented by the BTCC, also known as “Building a Thriving Compassionate Community’ of Bloomington.
Beth Tevlin, Executive Director of the Wabash Valley Community Foundation, said she thinks the training is important.
“The reason we’re holding the implicit bias training today is that we want to make certain that Vigo County and Terre Haute can be the most welcoming community it can be. Welcoming not only the people outside of our community but also, being more welcoming and accepting of people within our community,” Tevlin said.
The next training session will be on Friday, September 30 at the Community Foundation from 9 am to 12 p.m.
