SULLIVAN, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) — Some local high school seniors kicked off the new school year in a special way on Friday.
At North Central High School, seniors held their Senior Sunrise event.
Principal Nancy Liston said the seniors approached her with the concept and she thought it sounded like a fun idea.
Senior students gathered at the school to watch the sunrise this morning and enjoy donuts, milk, juice, and coffee.
Then at the end of the school year, the students will gather once more for a Senior Sunset.
“This is the beginning of the end for our senior class of 2024 and they’re excited they got a lot of things planned and they want to kick it off with a bang,” Liston said.
Liston also noted they have a little less than 70 seniors in the 2024 class and had a good turnout this morning.
