VIGO COUNTY, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) — A new local family will complete the process of becoming homeowners Wednesday thanks to Habitat for Humanity.

After Habitat for Humanity completes the closing process, the family will have access to their newly built home.

Habitat for Humanity helps to create stability and self-reliance for families in the community through its home-building and repair program. It’s a way for working families that may be struggling financially to achieve home ownership.

New homeowner Crystal Blair says the whole process took about six months. She has a message for others who want to become homeowners themselves.

“Just stay positive and don’t give up, if you have children lean on them because you need them as much as they need you,” said Blair.

Blair says the wait was the hardest part of the process but that she is very grateful for the outcome.
