SULLIVAN COUNTY, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) — Sullivan tornado victims are getting a helping hand thanks to some local businesses.

Sullivan County’s long-term tornado recovery coalition, appliance factory, and Temper-Pedic Care are collecting mattresses for those impacted by the March 31 tornado, resulting in dozens of mattresses collected for storm victims.

Jay Hinton with Tempur + Sealy Mattresses said that ever since the storm, he wanted to help those who were impacted.

“The more I heard about it. It was just really on my heart to find something that I could do to help out through my company so I worked with these guys at the appliance factory to come up with an idea of what we could do. We got a truckload of 80 temperate mattresses here that we’re donating to the city and county of Sullivan here.”

The mattresses were collected at the Oddfellows building in Sullivan.
