WEST TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) – A local business hopes to bring people together while supporting law enforcement.

Sugar Creek Scrap will host its first annual Cars and Coffee event benefitting the West Terre Haute Police Department.

The event will take place on June 5 from 7 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.

It will feature a car show, coffee and donuts to enjoy, as well as raffles. The cost to show a car at the event is $20. It costs $5 to attend.

General Manager Matthew Hagedorn says it will be a fun way to give back to the community.

“Cars bring people together anyways,” says Hagedorn, “and I think it’s good to get people close to our officers. We need to have that connection with them and see they’re just as real as we are.”
