TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) — For those that celebrate the holidays with a live tree in the Wabash Valley, a list of tree recycling drop-off locations for the area has been compiled for this year.

The task of keeping a tree alive throughout the holiday and then finding a proper place for disposal can sometimes be a challenge. For more ideas, information, and tips on how to reduce waste this holiday season, visit the Indiana Department of Environmental Management Holiday Recycling webpage.

According to Sean Sluyter, the Vigo County Parks and Rec Natural Resource Programmer, the trees that are dropped off will be used for aquatic habitats in the Vigo County lakes. Some other counties will also recycle the trees for aquatic habitats or process the trees and make mulch that will be used later on.

This list is not exhaustive and is subject to update.
