LINTON, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV)– Linton-Stockton School Board President Katie Elliott announced her upcoming resignation during Monday night’s school board meeting to accept a position with the corporation.

Elliott will step down from her current role after May 31st to become the assistant director of finance for the corporation. She will become the director of finance in July of 2024, according to Linton-Stockton Superintendent Kathy Goad.

Goad said the four remaining board members will appoint her replacement in June, and they will serve the remainder of her term through December of 2026.

“Within 30 days of May 31st, our board will be appointing someone,” she said. “They do that when individuals submit a letter of interest that they are interested in being on the board.”

Those letters are due by May 13th, at 3 p.m. Goad said they are required to interview at least three applicants, as long as at least three people apply, and the board will conduct those interviews.

The new board member will be appointed during their school board meeting on June 19th.
