CLINTON, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) — The official preparations for the Little Italy Festival have begun.

The Little Italy Festival Town board, of L.I.F.T., threw a media dinner to kick off the festival’s hype. This dinner consisted of great Italian cuisine, live music from a local band, and a raffle with many prizes.

The Little Italy Festival is something that has been a staple in the Clinton community for over 50 years. The festival recognizes all of the Italian heritage that in embedded in the roots of the area.

This event will have many events for people of all ages to enjoy. This list includes a parade, a carnival, many food and drink vendors, and much more.

Adria Davis is the president of the L.I.F.T. board and she talk about how this event has impacted her throughout her life.

“I’ve been involved in the festival for years and years. I knew someday I wanted to help out the board to continue it on for my kids and grandkids. I think it’s important for the community.”

The Little Italy Festival kicks off with their parade at 6 p.m. on September 1st.
