KNOX COUNTY, Ind. (WTWO)/WAWV) — A ribbon cutting took place on Thursday for the new location of the Knox County Health Department.

Several officials were in attendance for the ribbon cutting and the open house that followed.

“We had a ribbon cutting and were very excited about this. We have a new facility and public health is getting more and more attention in the state, the pandemic opened our eyes to all of this and we realized we needed more room, we needed more programs that could prevent illness before it happened. We partnered with many people in the count and in the state,” Alan Stewart, Indiana Health Officer said.

Working towards providing preventative health care for the people of Knox County and the state of Indiana, the Knox County Health Department has relocated to accommodate the public.

“Through the partnerships we have we will be able to deliver more programs. We’ve already started some of those programs, so with this, we will be able to fund more health care,” Stewart said.

The new location is at 328 N. 2nd Street Suite 100 in Vincennes.
