Knox Broadband Task Force seeking input from county residents

Local News

VINCENNES, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) – The Knox Broadband Task Force is seeking input from all county residents and businesses to support the expansion of high-speed internet access throughout the county.

Knox County households and businesses are invited to participate in the survey, especially those with limited access. The information will assess current internet availability, identify under-served areas, and explore opportunities for expansion of higher speed services. This information is needed in order to have accurate data to apply for additional funding from federal and state broadband programs.

As part of this effort, the task force is working with the Purdue University Center for Regional
Development to facilitate the survey, and determine where broadband access is most needed.

“The need for high-speed internet service, especially in rural areas, has been an ongoing challenge and the pandemic has only amplified this need,” said Drew Garretson, co-chair of the Task Force. “Every household and farm in Knox County deserve reliable and affordable broadband connections to ensure access for online learning, remote working, and telehealth opportunities.”
We encourage residents to take a few minutes to participate in the survey. Together, we can make Knox County #BroadbandReady!
