TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV)– The 2023 “Journey of Hope Transamerica” route has finally come to an end.

Cyclist Andrew Tielking’s journey started almost three months ago in Seattle and he has finally made it to Washington D.C. Throughout Tielking’s trip he has cycled over four thousand miles, raised almost $8,000 for people with disabilities, and built relationships with others during his journey. “Journey to Hope,” is a coast-to-coast bike ride put on by the Pi Kappa Phi fraternity to raise awareness for people with disabilities.

Tielking said it was a once in a lifetime experience.

“The amount of lives we were able to reach out to and touch. And give them a better chance to feel happy and strong within themselves,” Tielking said.
