JASONVILLE, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) — Thursday evening residents got the chance to be served and waited on by local police officers.

Jack’s Place in Jasonville hosted fundraiser for the Greene County Sheriff’s Office Project Lifesaver. This is a search and rescue program for at risk individuals who are prone to the life-threatening behavior of wondering.

All of the tips from the tables will go directly to the families of those enrolled in this program.

George Dallaire is the Greene County sheriff, and he is forever thankful for the generosity of the people in this area.

“Hoosiers as a whole are just very generous people with big hearts. They will give what they can whether it’s a dollar, or ten dollars. It all means something to us,” said Dallaire.

Dallaire also wanted to express how important this program is to the people that are a part of it.

“This program is so critical for people in these situations. It is something that keeps these family member’s minds at ease. no one wants to be in the situation where they can’t find their loved one. This program keeps families together,” added Dallaire.
