TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) — J Gumbos reached the one-year mark of its reopening on Friday.

This means it is time for a celebration in the eyes of the new ownership. They are having a celebration with live music Friday and Saturday.

The type of music that will be played will be New Orleans-style jazz played by some of the best jazz bands in the area and Irish music by a growing local artist. The new owners could not be happier with how the community has reacted since its reopening.

J Gumbos was a Wabash staple for many years before its recent closure. Many members of the community were thrilled when they decided to open the doors back up.

Adam Dalton is the owner of J Gumbos, and he expresses his endless gratitude for the Terre Haute community.

“It feels great to me personally to know that taking over this place a year ago was a good decision. Everyone is happy with what we have done here so far. It feels really great.”

The music and festivities begin at 6 p.m. on Saturday.
