TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV)– Union Hospital and Ivy Tech are partnering for a free health and wellness fair on Thursday morning.
Over 25 community partners will be on hand to provide services, according to Chris Williams, the college’s executive director of human resources.
“We’ll be doing things such as health screenings, there will be information on mental health, physical health, financial health as well,” he said. “Basically a good opportunity for people to come out and get a lot of information about resources our community has to offer.”
Williams said he has seen a need for more mental health resources in the area the past few years.
“It’s important to talk about mental health,” he said. “We have a great partner in Valley Professional Community Health Center that works with us on mental health in our campus. We see such an increased need with our students, and our staff as well, to make sure they got their mental health checked out and people are getting the help and the services they need.”
This will be the first health and wellness fair held since 2020. It will be held in the community room at Ivy Tech’s Terre Haute campus from 9 a.m. -12 p.m.
