TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) — It’s a busy weekend for new students attending Indiana State University.
ISU is having its move-in weekend for freshmen who will be living on campus along with some upperclassmen as well.
In the spirit of community, some student organizations often volunteer as move-in crews to make the transition easier for new students. As most of these students are living away from home for the first time, a lot of events are planned to help them feel welcome. Student organizations are holding a variety of events.
“Especially upon arrival, we do keep them busy. Tomorrow night our residence hall association will be hosting our first kick-off event for party on the patio but all our partnerships from over campus, campus life, fraternity, and sorority life everybody’s coming out hosting different events,” said Katie Uttich, Director for Residential Education and Residential Life.
Uttich said that on Sunday, the students will take part in a well-established welcoming ceremony tradition, the March through the Arch, and then will attend a student involvement fair.
