TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) – Indiana State hosted its inaugural “Tried and True” athletic gala in coordination with First Financial Bank Friday evening at the Hulman Center.

The gala was held to honor Max and Jackie Gibson, who have dedicated 50 years to the university athletic department.

Director of Athletics, Sherard Clinkscales, believes this event was the perfect way to begin the school year.

“Athletics to me is a part of the ecosystem of the community and the university, and to be able to celebrate athletics at an event such like this, to kind of kick off the season with people that have seen the value they provided our student athletes and coaches, it means an awful lot,” Clinkscales said.

All funds collected from the gala will be donated to ISU athletics.
