TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) – People will have the chance to attend a Yuletide Madrigal Feaste hosted by the Indiana State University of Music.
Heading into the 76th year, the ISU Madrigal Dinners event is a re-creation of a Renaissance feast full of music, pageantry, and food. The event will run for three days, giving folks three separate opportunities to experience the festivities and will be hosted at the St. Stephen’s Episcopal Church located at 215 N. 7th Street in Terre Haute. The event will be held on the following dates:
- Thursday, December 7 | 7:00 p.m.
- Friday, December 8 | 7:00 p.m.
- Saturday, December 9 | 7:00 p.m.
“This event should be a highlight of Terre Haute’s holiday activities,” Scott Buchanan, ISU Director of Choral Activities said. “An evening of wonderful music with singers, period costumes, and exquisite food in a beautiful venue…what more could you ask for to usher in the Christmas season? Be assured that everyone involved in this venture takes great pride in producing an unforgettable evening for our guests, and we look forward to sharing the holiday spirit with them. We encourage folks to make their reservations early, as there are only 64 seats available for each performance.”
The cast for the feast will include the ISU Sycamore Singers and Brass Quintet. The meal will be catered by Federal Coffee & Fine Foods and will include traditional wassail, cranberry Christmas salad, roasted pork loin, breaded stuffing, roasted red potatoes, green beans, rolls, and black forest cake.
Tickets are currently on sale through November 30 for the event at a cost of $35 dollars a person. Those interested can make a reservation for the event by calling 812-237-4590 or by purchasing tickets at the ISU Landini Center for the Performing and Fine Arts choral office (room 222).
