ISU freshman from Illinois dies on campus

TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) — Indiana State University announced in a news release Sunday that a freshman student died over the weekend on campus.

The ISU Police Department said Dylan McConkey, an 18-year-old from Peotone, Ill., was found by his roommates Sunday in Cromwell Hall. The investigation by IUSPD is ongoing, and the Terre Haute Police Department and Vigo County Coroner’s Office are assisting on the case.

“Our heartfelt condolences go out to Dylan’s family,” ISU President Dr. Deborah J. Curtis said. “This is a terrible tragedy, and we offer our most fervent thoughts and prayers to his family.”

According to the release, Michele Soliz, Vice President for Student Affairs, has been in touch with McConkey’s family.
