VINCENNES, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) — An Indiana State Police trooper administered Narcan to an unconscious man at a Vincennes car wash Saturday night.

According to a release from ISP, around 8 p.m. Saturday, Trooper Hatfield was waiting to wash his patrol car at the Dirt Buster Car Wash at 6th St. and Saint Clair St. in Vincennes while on-duty and noticed a driver in another wash bay falling over behind the wheel of his vehicle.

Hatfield noticed a passenger in the car pushing the driver up only for him to fall over again. After approaching the car, Hatfield noticed the 39-year-old Bicknell man was unconscious and appeared to not be breathing.

An ambulance was called after Hatfield determined the man was experiencing an overdose. Vincennes Police administered Narcan to the man when they arrived on scene and Knox County EMS took the man to Good Samaritan Hospital.

According to EMS staff, the Narcan took effect on the way to the hospital and the man did regain consciousness. His current status is unknown.
