LAWRENCE COUNTY, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) — Two people were arrested in Lawrence County due to drug-related charges. 

After a lengthy investigation involving the Indiana State Police, the Lawrence County Sheriff’s Department, and the Bedford Police Department, two residents of Bedford were arrested on April 11 for narcotic drug-related activity. 

According to a release from the ISP, after gathering sufficient evidence, law enforcement pulled the couple over for further investigation.  A Bedford police sergeant was assisted by K9 officer Zazu in the investigation of the vehicle. Zazu alerted other law enforcement to the presence of drugs in the vehicle. During the search, officers found a bag containing around 50 pressed pills, purportedly containing fentanyl, and a firearm. 

The couple, Tyler Gunderson, 20, and Jade Hillenburg, 22, both of Bedford, were arrested and taken to the Lawrence County Jail for the following charges:

  • Dealing a Narcotic Drug | Level 2 felony
  • Possession of a Narcotic Drug | Level 3 felony
  • Possession of Marijuana | Class B misdemeanor 
  • Possession of Paraphernalia | Class C misdemeanor

In addition to pulling Funderson and Hillenburg over, law enforcement obtained a search warrant and continued the investigation at Gunderson and Hillenburg’s believed address. Officers found and confiscated about 330 pressed pills, purportedly containing fentanyl, around 11 grams of purported heroin, and several boxes containing THC products.
