CLAY COUNTY, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) – People can expect closures along S.R. 46 after INDOT announced a temporary closure.
The closure of S.R. 46 will be between Dearborn Street (Vigo/Clay County line) and County Road 525 W. near Cory. The closure will start either on or after October 31.
The road will be closed daily between 7:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. as crews work to replace culverts in the area.
INDOT noted that the official detour will be I-70 to U.S. 40 to S.R. 59, which runs around 20 miles.
Drivers are encouraged to slow down, avoid distractions, and be mindful of workers in the area while traveling through.
