MORGAN COUNTY, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) — Drivers can expect changes in their commute as the Indiana Department of Transportation has announced that County Road 1100 W. (Little Point Rd.) will be closed over Interstate 70.
According to INDOT, the road will be closed for repairs on or after Monday, August 21 for bridge work near Little Point. Motorists should be aware of restrictions on both the east and westbound lanes of I-70. Traffic will be diverted using the exit and entrance ramps weekly from 10:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m. between Monday and Thursday weather permitting.
Temporary traffic signals will control the intersection of Co. Rd 1100 W. and the entrance and exit ramps in the area.

In addition, there will also be intermittent single-lane restrictions on I-70 along the eastbound and westbound lanes weekly from 9:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m. between Monday and Friday. INDOT noted that Co. Rd. 1100 W. will stay closed throughout the project and is expected to reopen in June 2024.
There will be a detour that will use State Road 42 to Wellman Rd. to Appaloosa Rd. The Indiana State Police Post Bloomington encourages motorists who use this route to be prepared for delays and to use the provided detours.
Crews will be working to replace the bridge’s superstructure, leading to the project’s estimated completion to be November of 2024.
