TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) — A bribery case against former Vigo County Schools superintendent Danny Tanoos will move forward in a Marion County court after the Indiana Supreme Court ruled against hearing the case.

Three counts of bribery were filed against Daniel Tanoos in Marion County in 2018, alleging he improperly awarded school contracts to ESG, a guaranteed energy savings contractor, in exchange for benefits and perks.

When the Court rejected Tanoos’ motion to dismiss, the case moved to Appeals Court, and most recently to the Indiana Supreme Court, where Justices Thursday denied the petition to transfer.

A status conference in the original case was scheduled for May 6.
