TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) — The Indiana State University community came together Friday for a Veterans Day celebration.
It was an opportunity to honor those who have served our country including veterans within the ISU community. The event featured speakers, a color guard presentation, a wreath laying ceremony and more.
Katie Lugar is the Director of Multi-cultural Services and Programs at ISU. She says their department now houses ISU’s Veterans Resource Center, which provides support to on-campus veterans.
“We want to make sure that our veterans have as much support and resources as possible because transition from life in the military back to the civilian world can be a bit of a transition,” Lugar said. “We want to ensure that all folks have the care and support that they deserve when they come home.”
Veterans Day is Saturday, November 11.
