TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) — A local business that’s constructed commercial buildings and residential homes in Terre Haute is now doing some work on its own building.

Keymark Construction is in the process of remodeling its Lafayette Avenue location. President Jacob Hellmann said the building will have a better layout, more natural lighting and better curb appeal for the city.

It comes as the business celebrates a decade of being a part of the Terre Haute community.

According to Hellmann, the company started with just he and his wife, but has grown in the 10 years since to a staff of 13 people.

“It’s been a lot of work,” Hellmann said, “We’re very lucky and blessed with all of this and we’re looking forward to ten more.”

Terre Haute Mayor Duke Bennett dropped by to tour the building and said it’s always good to see a company make a lasting impression on the community.

“It’s rewarding to see a company make it,” Bennett said, “Ten years, I know to some it might not seem like that long but in the environment today, businesses struggle, small businesses do, and this one’s thriving in our community.”

Keymark Construction expects the remodeling project to be finished within the next two months.
