PARKE COUNTY, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) — An Illinois man was flown to an Indianapolis hospital with severe injuries following a motorcycle crash on US 41.
According to Parke County Sheriff Justin Cole, the crash happened around 3:29 p.m. on Saturday, September 17 on US 41 near the Sugar Mill Creek bridge just north of SR 47.
Sheriff Cole said that a 63-year-old Bradley, Illinois man was traveling southbound when his motorcycle ran off the roadway and lost control in some loose gravel along the shoulder.
The wreck threw the rider from the motorcycle and he suffered what Sheriff Cole described as a “severe” head injury. The man was then taken by helicopter to a hospital in Indianapolis. His current condition is unknown.
Sheriff Cole noted that the man had not been wearing a helmet at the time of the incident.
