FLORIDA (WTWO/WTWO)- Hurricane Dorian is expected to make landfall as early as Monday evening as a category 4 storm.
In reaction to the hurricane, volunteers from all over the nation are being sent to aid those in the storm’s path. Thousands from the Red Cross organization have already been sent to the Carolinas and Florida to assist those in need of shelter and supplies.
Friday Duke Energy sent roughly 100 people to wait out the storm in Georgia. After the hurricane passes, the skilled men and women will work with other contractors and companies to restore power.
In the path of Dorian is Florida, Georgia and the Carolinas.
Experts are expecting Dorian to make a turn from Florida and head northeast until Thursday.
