FARMERSBURG, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) — A Texas Christian University sports fan podcast has tasked its listeners with supporting Terre Haute and the Sycamores by sending monetary donations to Indiana Special Olympics.

The idea came after Indiana State University announced the university would be unable to host the NCAA Super Regionals, and as a result Fort Worth, Texas, and TCU will be playing host to the event Friday, June 9.

Responses show numerous individuals sending donations in amounts like $10.25, $51.25, with some donating up to at least $512.50.

The donation trend extended beyond the podcast listener base with one user, and ISU alum, donating in honor of his son who competed in the North Carolina Special Olympics Summer Games recently.

“Great idea! Donated in honor of my son Caedon who competed in NC Special Olympics Summer Games last weekend. I’m a Sycamore alum & will be rooting for @IndStBaseball, but thanks for such a great idea for a great cause! #FrogsForSycs,” the tweet reads.

Looking ahead to the games in Fort Worth, Texas, ticket information can be found online here. The Sycamores will take on the Horned Frogs on Friday at 5 p.m.
