PARIS, Ill. (WTWO/WAWV) — Horizon Health is looking to expand by purchasing a local church building.

Cornerstone Baptist Church on US 150 had been under the operation of pastor Jack Hoffman since 1990. But over the last year and a half, the church decided the property was becoming too costly to maintain with its decreasing congregation.

Hoffman says it was a bittersweet decision, but church officials approached Horizon Health about selling the location.

Horizon Health says a permanent use for the church has not yet been determined. For now, the building will be used for hospital meetings, community events, and community programming.
