TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) — Crafters in Terre Haute will soon have a new location to pick up supplies, even if it’s just across the road from the old location.
The Hobby Lobby location in the old Kmart building in Terre Haute is set to open its doors for business on Monday, Feb 13.
Hobby Lobby Manager Bryan Doepker confirmed the new location will open for customers that day, but was unsure of potential plans for a celebration. A message seeking comment from the Hobby Lobby corporate offices has not received a response at the time of publication.
No word yet on what will come of the store’s soon-to-be previous location at 4700 US Hwy 41 in the Kroger and Big Lots shopping center.
Hobby Lobby was long rumored to be going into the old Kmart location, which hasn’t been occupied since Kmart left the space in mid-2016.
While the Hobby Lobby will only use a portion of the space of the old Kmart building, Rural King has announced they will place a second Terre Haute store in the remaining section of the newly renovated building.
Rural King’s opening was recently delayed due to ongoing material shortages and is now expected to open in the summer of 2024.
