Officials noted that it is “relatively rare for restaurant patrons to become infected with hepatitis A virus due to an infected food handler,” they encouraged anyone who consumed food or drink at Buffalo Wild Wings in Vincennes on those dates to receive a Hepatitis A vaccination within 14 days of exposure.

A vaccination clinic will be held from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday at the Knox County Health Department Immunization Clinic, 305 South 5th Street for those with potential exposure to hepatitis A during the specified dates.

The vaccine is being provided by the State of Indiana at no charge.

Affected individuals who live in Illinois may come to the clinic to get vaccine.

Those who have been vaccinated within the past 10 years do not need to be re-vaccinated.

The health department also established a hotline to answer any additional questions. The hotline is available at (812) 885-8413.

Those who cannot attend the vaccination clinics during the scheduled times should contact their personal medical provider or contact local pharmacies for vaccine availability.

The employee resides in Lawrence County, Ill., according to the county’s health department.

The Lawrence County Health Department will have vaccines on hand, and will also hold a vaccination clinic from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Friday.
