VIGO COUNTY, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) — Update: One man is in custody after a shooting incident near West Terre Haute that sent two people to the hospital with gunshot wounds.

According to Vigo County Sheriff John Plasse, at approximately 4:00 p.m. deputies were called to the scene where they found two male gunshot victims. Both were transported to Union Hospital for treatment, their condition is unknown at this time.

After investigating, detectives arrested 67-year-old Donald Kennedy of West Terre Haute.

Kennedy is charged with 3rd-degree felony aggravated battery as well as 6th-degree felony Criminal Recklessness

The Sheriff says the investigation is ongoing at this time. The Sheriff’s Office was assisted at the scene by Indiana State Police, West Terre Haute Police, Transcare as well as New Goshen Fire and Rescue.

The location is in the 7200 block of Fayette Road. Currently, there is yellow police tape stretching across the road closing Fayette to through traffic.
