TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) — Happiness Bag is celebrating 50 years of serving individuals and families in the community.

The organization offers recreational and educational opportunities to people with disabilities. Happiness Bag Executive Director Jodi Moan, who’s been with the organization for 36 of those years, says it’s amazing to see how much Happiness Bag has grown throughout the years.

“Increasing the number of individuals we serve. When I started our numbers were somewhere around 25 to 40 individuals. Currently, we’re serving over 250 individuals from ages five through adult across the Wabash Valley over into Illinois and down to Sullivan,” said Moan. “We have been so blessed over the last 50 years for the support we’ve received from the community and from different families and individuals. There’s no way without all of their support and the individuals we serve that we would have been able to see 50 years.”

Happiness Bag is raising funds to expand its facility so the organization can help even more people.
